Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking an experienced Engineer to design distribution layouts and perform technical reviews for transmission and distribution projects in India. You will work under supervision, participate in client meetings, and coordinate with US teams while applying codes like NESC, IEC, IEEE, and ASCE 7.

This role offers growth by taking on increasing design responsibilities and contributing to Quality Systems procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant transmission and distribution experience.
• Proven verbal and written communication and IT skills.
• Knowledge of overhead construction methods and distribution system equipment.
• Familiarity with design codes such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare distribution layouts and designs in ArcGIS, Pole Foreman, OCalc, AUD, etc., and reports per codes and client requirements.
• Carry out reviews of submissions and provide review reports.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients.
• Progress in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities with the discipline lead engineer.
• Ensure all duties are carried out according to the company's Quality Systems Procedures.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members and US team members.

• Prepare distribution layouts, designs in various distribution software's like ArcGIS, Pole foreman, Ocalc, AUD,etc. and reports to be carried out in accordance with relevant codes of practice, standards, regulatory authorities, and clients' requirements. All under a suitable level of supervision from a Experienced/Senior Engineer.
• Carry out appropriate reviews of submissions and provide review reports.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients.
• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer
• Ensure that all duties are carried out according to the company's Quality Systems Procedures.
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and US team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/civil engineering
• 2-5 years of experience.
• Prior work experience in transmission & distribution is preferred
• Proven verbal and written communication and IT skills.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-office, Auto-Cad, MicroStation, Analysis software/ tools, Google Earth, Arc-GIS
• Knowledge of overhead construction methods and distribution system equipments.
• Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, AND ACI 318 is preferred.
