Job summary

Société Générale is seeking a Consultant Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable cloud and on-premise infrastructure platforms. You will collaborate with applications engineers, security and architecture teams to meet technical and business needs.

Responsibilities include leading design and maintenance of infrastructure, building CI/CD workflows, and driving IaC with Terraform/Ansible.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a full-stack Developer / DevOps role.
• Engineering graduate / MCA / Computer Science degree or equivalent.

• Collaborate with multi-platform/region teams on providing technical leadership, design reviews and hands-on support.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues in production environments.
• Operate under a follow-the-sun model, providing on-call coverage within a global rotation.

Overview

Role Overview: As a Consultant Software Engineer, you will design, implement and optimize scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and on-premise infrastructure platforms. You will collaborate with applications engineers, security and architecture teams to build platforms that support technical and business requirements of the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Solid experience in Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible.
• Expertise in frontend frameworks like React, primarily for internal tools, dashboards or platform interfaces.
• Expertise in API development and integration, including RESTful APIs, versioning and documentation.
• Hands-on experience building backend services using Python with frameworks like Flask and FastAPI.
• Strong experience conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards and best practices.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus for metrics, monitoring, and alerting; CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions or equivalents.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Education & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in a full-stack Developer / DevOps role.
• Engineering graduate / MCA / Computer Science degree or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with efficient IP appliances.
