Job summary

Valeo in Chennai seeks a Discipline Team Leader to drive ENV Lab activities, budgets and performance across projects. You will oversee QCD, implement standardized methodologies, and guide technical design reviews to ensure robust, on-time delivery.

You will mentor discipline designers, support skills development, and collaborate with the Lab Manager to align on budgets and efficiency goals for ongoing programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance within the ENV lab discipline.
• Ensure compliance with ENV Lab Discipline Methodology and KPIs.
• Oversee Technical Design Reviews conducted by RAISE reviewers.
• Support skills assessments and training plans for lab team members.
• Contribute to the Lab QRQC and project QRQC initiatives.
• Assist deployment of the efficiency plan for the lab discipline within projects.

Support Operations:* Support Projects Discipline QCD Management: Lead the team responsible for Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of the ENV lab discipline within assigned projects, adhering to standardized methodologies and KPIs defined by the Division and implemented by the Lab Manager.* Ensure compliance with ENV Lab Discipline Methodology: Implement and enforce adherence to standardized methodologies, best practices, and KPIs for the [Discipline Name] discipline.* Support test solutions and reuse: Oversee test solutions for projects and platforms, promoting the reuse of functional and solution elements from the /Mechanical/Electronics discipline capitalization. Contribute to the resolution of critical project issues.* Technical Design Reviews: Oversee Technical Design Reviews conducted by RAISE reviewers. Competencies:* Support Projects Team ENV lab Skills Assessment & Training Plan: Conduct regular skills assessments of the lab team members allocated to projects and contribute to the development of tailored training plans to address competency gaps and support career development, aligning with the Group/Division Discipline Skills Assessment & Training Plan defined by the Lab Manager.* Contribute to Lab QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) managed by the Lab Manager and Project QRQC (technical issue) managed by the project team. Efficiency:* Contribute to T&V Discipline Efficiency Plan Deployment in Projects: Implement and monitor the deployment of the entity's efficiency plan for the lab discipline within assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the overall efficiency goals defined by the Discipline Engineering Manager and adapting them to the specific needs and context of each project. Collaboration and Influence:* Collaborate with Lab Manager: Maintain regular communication and alignment on budget performance, project execution, competency development, and efficiency initiatives.* Collaborate with the test request Project Leaders: Ensure seamless integration of the lab discipline within the overall project plan and timeline.* Lead and Mentor Discipline Designers: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to Discipline Designers allocated to projects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
