Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to provide visionary leadership for the software engineering department. You will oversee delivery of a portfolio of software projects, manage resources and priorities, and drive the execution of the software roadmap in the Building Automation space.

You will lead a 50+ person engineering team, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable cloud-native applications and SaaS platforms

Qualifications

• 15+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading large engineering organizations.
• 10+ years of experience in the Building Automation domain.
• Hands-on experience with Building Automation Platforms.
• Strong software architecture, design, and engineering leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a team of 50+ engineers developing large-scale cloud-based software applications for the Building Automation industry.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural direction across engineering teams.
• Drive development of innovative software platforms integrating Building Automation platform.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and define long-term software architecture strategies.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate across global teams to deliver customer-centric Building Automation solutions.
• Lead delivery of large-scale cloud-native applications and SaaS platforms leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technologies.
• Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
• Stay current with advancements in cloud technologies, Agentic AI, IoT, data analytics, real-time systems, and Building Automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and scale a team of 50+ engineers responsible for developing large-scale cloud-based software applications for the Building Automation industry
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural direction across engineering teams.

Product & Technology Strategy

• Drive development of innovative software platforms integrating Building Automation platform.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and define long-term software architecture strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Architecture, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Cloud & SaaS Development

Qualifications

Must Have

• 15+ years of Engineering Leadership / NPI Delivery Leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading large engineering organizations.
• Strong background in large-scale Cloud/SaaS application development and delivery.
• 10+ years of experience in the Building Automation domain.
• Hands‑on experience with Building Automation Platforms.
• Strong software architecture, design, and engineering leadership capabilities.

Preferred

• Experience with Building Automation.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Exposure to Agentic AI, real-time systems, and data analytics.
• Strong Agile and DevOps experience.
