Job description

We are looking for an Associate Director / Director of Quality & Transformation – Medical Coding to lead strategic quality governance, transformation, and client stakeholder management across our HIM organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Quality Governance
   • Architect, implement, and govern a comprehensive medical coding quality management strategy across all lines of business.
   • Oversee internal, external, and client‑facing coding audit programs ensuring accuracy meets or exceeds client SLAs.
   • Partner with Denial teams to analyze rejection trends and implement corrective action plans.
2. Transformation, Automation & Innovation
   • Drive evaluation, piloting, and scaling of automated coding technologies, including AI‑driven CAC systems.
   • Lead Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement projects to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce cost‑to‑serve.
   • Manage change as teams transition from manual coding to technology‑enabled validation roles.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
   • Design and present high‑impact quality dashboards, compliance risks, and ROI metrics to executive leadership and external clients.
   • Serve as the final escalation point for complex coding disputes and audit rebuttals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field; MBA/MHA preferred.
• Active premier credentials from AHIMA or AAPC (CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT).
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
• 12‑15 years coding experience, with 8‑10 years in quality management, auditing, or operational excellence leadership.
• Documented success in process transformation, EHR migrations, or automated coding deployments.
• Experience managing large‑scale quality operations across India.

Physical Demands

• Regular use of a computer terminal for 6‑8 hours per day.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
• Work may involve periods of elevated stress with multiple deadlines.
