Job summary

Nanonets in Bengaluru is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and scale a high-performing engineering organization. You will drive architectural decisions, oversee delivery, and partner closely with Product and business teams to ship impactful products.

You will mentor engineers, shape a culture of ownership and operational excellence, and ensure timely delivery of scalable, reliable systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience
• Proven experience managing teams of 5–10 engineers
• Strong backend engineering and large-scale systems understanding
• Excellent HLD, system design, and architectural trade-offs
• Strong project and execution management skills
• Good product understanding with pragmatic technical decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements across SDLC, development practices, code quality, testing, and engineering efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to create alignment.
• Champion a strong bias for action, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant engineering leadership/people management experience.
• Proven experience managing teams of 5-10 engineers.
• Strong backend engineering experience and deep understanding of large-scale systems.
• Strong HLD, system design, and architectural trade-off expertise.
• Strong project and execution management skills.
• Good product understanding with the ability to prioritise and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• B. E /B tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a well-reputed institute.
