Job summary

3D Genomix Healthcare in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, seeks an experienced MD Pathologist to lead our advanced Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics Laboratory. The Laboratory Director will provide clinical, scientific, and operational leadership for high‑quality testing across oncology, hematologic malignancies, inherited disorders, and infectious diseases.

Qualifications

• MD in Pathology or PhD in pathology-related field.
• Experience in molecular pathology, molecular diagnostics, cancer genomics, or clinical genomics.
• Strong knowledge of PCR-based testing, NGS, FISH, and data interpretation.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality management and accreditation requirements.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and strategic leadership for the Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics Laboratory.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely reporting.
• Supervise development, validation, and implementation of molecular assays including PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, NGS, IHC, FISH.
• Provide clinical interpretation and oversight of molecular test results.
• Collaborate with oncologists, hematologists, pathologists, geneticists, and clinicians to support precision medicine.
• Lead assay validation, quality control, proficiency testing, and continuous quality improvement.
• Oversee laboratory accreditation, audits, documentation, and regulatory compliance, including NABL and other standards.
• Mentor laboratory scientists, technologists, molecular biologists, and quality personnel.
• Support expansion of the laboratory's diagnostic test portfolio and introduction of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with hospitals, academic institutions, research organizations, and biotechnology partners.
• Contribute to clinical research, scientific publications, conferences, and educational programs.

About the Role

3D Genomix Healthcare is seeking an experienced MD Pathologist to lead our advanced Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics Laboratory in Bhubaneswar.

The Laboratory Director will provide clinical, scientific, and operational leadership and oversee the delivery of high-quality molecular diagnostic and genomic testing in oncology, hematologic malignancies, inherited disorders, infectious diseases, and other areas of precision medicine.

The ideal candidate will combine strong pathology expertise with experience in molecular diagnostics, clinical genomics, laboratory quality systems, and multidisciplinary clinical interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and strategic leadership for the Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics Laboratory.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• MD in Pathology from a recognized medical institution or Ph.D. in Pathology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related field.
• Experience or demonstrated expertise in molecular pathology, molecular diagnostics, cancer genomics, or clinical genomics.
• Strong understanding of molecular diagnostic technologies including PCR-based testing, NGS, FISH, and genomic data interpretation.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality management, assay validation, and accreditation requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred:

• 5–10+ years of experience in pathology, molecular diagnostics, oncology diagnostics, or clinical genomics.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a molecular diagnostic or genomic laboratory.
• Fellowship, specialized training, or significant experience in molecular pathology, hematopathology, oncopathology, or genomic medicine.
• Experience with NABL/CAP-accredited laboratories and laboratory accreditation processes.
• Experience integrating histopathology, molecular findings, and genomic information for clinical interpretation.
