Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a senior compliance leader to head a high-impact centre of excellence in India, based in Gurugram. You will work with the leadership team across geographies to shape and scale strategic compliance functions within a fast-growing global hub.

The role focuses on retail banking compliance, risk management, and leveraging data to drive regulatory excellence. You will mentor the India Compliance team and collaborate with Global Compliance leadership to embed strong governance

Qualifications

• Strong background in compliance within the retail banking sector in India.
• Extensive experience in risk management and compliance at a senior level.
• Understanding of how data and new technologies drive retail banking compliance.
• Innovative self-starter with a positive and influential leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Compliance India hub and set up a centre of excellence.
• Provide SME on retail banking products, regulatory environment and Consumer Duty.
• Educate and train India Compliance team members and stakeholders.
• Manage matrix-style relationships with Compliance MDs/directors across geographies.
• Support Global Compliance Leadership with oversight and challenge to the business.
• Provide thought leadership and embed the Target Operating Model within Compliance.

Job Description

• Collaborate with the Compliance leadership to identify areas/ activities that can be supported from India and manage the set up and delivery to create centres of excellence


• Provide subject matter expertise on retail banking products, regulatory environment, including Consumer Duty and the Compliance Risk Framework to India Compliance colleagues


• Provide education, training and support to members of the India Compliance team


• Stakeholder management of Compliance MDs/directors across geographies to ensure effective matrix management of the Compliance team based in India


• On behalf Global Compliance Leadership team, undertake specific business oversight accountabilities and provide effective check and challenge to the business


• Provide thought leadership and compliance expertise within the Compliance function including the continued embedment of the Business Oversight Compliance and Target Operating Model.


• As a member of the Compliance India leadership team, support the growth and value proposition of Compliance India hub
