Job summary

BNY is seeking a Director, Full-Stack Engineer to lead the LOANS ENBLMNTMENT PLATFORM team in Pune. The role focuses on steering multiple engineering teams toward predictable, high-quality outcomes, while shaping AI strategies and embedding AI capabilities across products and platforms.

You will mentor leaders, advance modern engineering practices, and partner with Product and business leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps, all within a matrix global organization.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in large, global engineering organizations.
• 15+ years in leadership, technology and talent strategy.
• Ability to navigate complex, matrix global structures.
• Exceptional stakeholder influence across senior leaders and geographies.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering, agile methods and governance.
• Proven execution metrics & analytics capability for data-driven decisions.
• Experience with vendor engagement models, governance and outcome-based delivery.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Full-Stack Engineer to join our LOANS ENBLMNTMENT PLATFORM team. This role is located in Pune.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Lead multiple engineering teams to deliver predictable outcomes with strong engineering quality, scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement.

• Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, upskilling, succession planning, and strengthening the engineering leadership pipeline.

• Shape and execute the group’s AI strategy, identifying opportunities to embed AI and agentic capabilities into products, platforms, and engineering workflows.

• Champion AI-assisted software development and equip teams to design, build, and operate AI-enabled solutions responsibly at enterprise scale.

• Advance modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps, cloud, Infrastructure as Code, Site Reliability Engineering, automation, and reusable engineering capabilities.

• Drive operational excellence through SLOs, incident management, vulnerability remediation, capacity planning, and continuous improvement of engineering and delivery metrics.

• Partner with Product and business leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps that balance customer outcomes, innovation, technical investment, risk, and modernization.

• Foster a culture of ownership, inclusion, experimentation, engineering excellence, and continuous learning, with emphasis on modern engineering and AI capability development.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Engineering leadership

• 15 + years of experience in leadership, technology & talent strategy with a track record of improving delivery performance and operational maturity at scale.

• Ability to work in a complex and matrix global organizational structure working with non-linear leadership roles and work both with control and influence

• Exceptional global stakeholder management and influence skills; ability to align senior leaders and technical teams across functions and geographies.

• Understanding of modern software engineering, agile ways of working, platform operating models and pragmatic governance in regulated environments.

• Proven expertise in execution metrics and analytics; ability to translate data into insights, decisions, and sustained improvements.

• Significant experience designing and operating vendor engagement models, governance, commercial discipline, and outcome-based delivery (pods/product teams).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
