BNY is seeking a VP, AI / Machine Learning Software Engineer to join the Global Payments & Trade CAO team in Pune, India. Lead AI solution engineering, architecture, data engineering, and MLOps to deliver scalable generative AI and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-powered applications, autonomous agents, copilots, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Build and integrate LLM-based applications using frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent.
- Develop Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions leveraging vector databases and enterprise knowledge stores.
- Fine‑tune, evaluate, and optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement responsible AI, model governance, explainability, and monitoring capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable AI solution designs and technical architectures.
- Define patterns for agent orchestration, prompt management, tool integrations, memory management, and context engineering.
- Design reusable AI engineering components and accelerate solution delivery through standardized frameworks.
- Participate in architecture reviews and technology evaluations.
- Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and curate data.
- Develop data workflows supporting AI and analytics use cases.
- Engineer datasets for ML and generative AI apps.
- Build integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and governance standards.
- Build CI/CD pipelines for ML/AI apps.
- Automate model deployment, monitoring, retraining, and lifecycle management processes.
- Implement observability, logging, performance metrics, and drift detection mechanisms.
- Support production AI workloads and improve solution reliability.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, AI / Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our Global Payments & Trade CAO team. This role is in Pune.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 10+ years of software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, or data engineering experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of hands‑on experience building Generative AI applications.
- Experience leading technical workstreams or small engineering teams.

- Mentor junior engineers and establish engineering best practices.
- Drive technical decision-making and code quality reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, data, business, risk, compliance, and technology stakeholders.
- Contribute to estimation, sprint planning, technical roadmaps, and delivery governance.
