Job summary

Nium, a leader in real-time cross-border payments, is hiring a Senior Financial Reporting professional in Mumbai to own end-to-end Record-to-Report and statutory/regulatory reporting for multiple entities. You will ensure balance sheet integrity, drive timely financial closes, and support group consolidation across regions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on schedule.
• Draft whitepapers on technical accounting topics and ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Coordinate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Business teams for accurate reporting.

About the Role:

This role will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, ensuring integrity of books, strong controls, and effective financial governance. The role acts as a bridge between transactional accounting and financial reporting, supporting both statutory and management reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial audits, statutory audits, internal audits, and regulatory reporting requirements for multiple entities
• Ensure balance sheet integrity through regular review and substantiation
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with agreed timelines
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and draft whitepapers on various technical accounting topics
• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Business teams
• Drive timely resolution of audit observations and control gaps
• Ensure timely closure of open items and perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues
• Maintain robust documentation for processes, controls, and accounting policies
• Manage intercompany accounting, certain key reconciliations, and eliminations
• Support group consolidation activities of multiple entities worldwide
• Coordinate with global finance teams to ensure alignment and accuracy
• Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and automate Record-to-Report processes
• Support ERP upgrades or system migrations (e.g., NetSuite)
• Partner with upstream (P2P, O2C) teams to resolve data or process issues impacting financial reporting

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of end-to-end Record-to-Report and financial reporting processes
• Solid accounting knowledge (India GAAP / US GAAP / IFRS)
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
• High attention to detail with ability to see the bigger picture
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Chartered Accountant / CPA8-10+ years of experience with public accounting, financial reporting, accounting, or controllership roles
• Experience in technology, payments, financial services, or fintech preferred
• Experience in multinational and multi-entity environments preferred
• Exposure to audits and regulatory reporting
