Job summary

enGen Global seeks a Head of Clinical Informatics (Epic) to build and scale a premier Epic practice in India. This senior leadership role blends clinical domain expertise, informatics strategy, Epic platform leadership, and business-growth accountability to transform workflows, improve patient outcomes, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 18+ years experience in healthcare IT with Epic focus.

The Head – Clinical Informatics (Epic) is a senior leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and leading the Epic Clinical Informatics practice within the organization. This role combines clinical domain expertise, informatics strategy, Epic platform leadership, and business growth accountability. The individual will drive clinical transformation initiatives, optimize EHR adoption, and partner with healthcare clients to improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Practice Leadership & Strategy
   • Define and execute the strategic vision for the Epic Clinical Informatics practice.
   • Build and scale a high-performing team of clinical informatics professionals, Epic analysts, and consultants.
   • Establish best practices, frameworks, and methodologies for Epic clinical implementations and optimization.
   • Drive innovation in clinical workflows, digital health, and data-driven care models.
2. Client Engagement & Delivery
   • Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients (payers, providers, health systems).
   • Lead end-to-end Epic clinical transformation programs including implementation, optimization, and upgrades.
   • Ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with scope, timelines, quality, and budget.
   • Partner with clinical stakeholders (physicians, nurses, administrators) to enhance adoption and usability.
3. Epic Clinical Informatics Expertise
   • Provide deep expertise across Epic clinical modules such as:
   • EpicCare Ambulatory / Inpatient
   • Clinical Documentation
   • Orders & Order Sets
   • Care Plans
   • Decision Support
   • Lead clinical workflow design, gap analysis, and process re-engineering initiatives.
   • Drive data governance, clinical quality measures, and reporting improvements.
4. Business Development & Growth
   • Support sales and pre-sales activities including solutioning, RFP responses, and client presentations.
   • Identify new business opportunities in Epic services (implementation, optimization, managed services).
   • Build partnerships with key stakeholders and expand account footprint.
   • Contribute to revenue growth, margin improvement, and practice P&L ownership.
5. Quality, Compliance & Governance
   • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, etc).
   • Drive clinical quality improvements and patient safety initiatives through informatics.
   • Establish governance models for change management, release management, and clinical adoption.
6. Talent Development
   • Mentor and develop clinical informatics consultants and leaders.
   • Build competency frameworks, training programs, and certification pathways.
   • Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Informatics, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 18+ years of experience in healthcare IT, with strong focus on Epic clinical systems.
• Epic certification(s) in one or more clinical modules (e.g., EpicCare, Clinical Documentation, Orders).
• Proven experience leading large-scale Epic implementations and transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Experience working with US healthcare systems (payer/provider environment preferred).
