Job summary

Mastercard in Maharashtra is seeking a Director, Accounting to lead settlement reconciliation, cash accounting, and bank administration. You will oversee a global team, drive automation-driven process improvements, and partner with GBSC and regional teams to ensure policy compliance and strong controls.

The role requires a CPA/CA or MBA with extensive experience managing diverse accounting groups and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• MBA / CPA / CA preferred.
• Experience managing a diverse, multi-functional accounting/finance group.
• Experience delivering process improvement through vision, design and build.
• Experience managing processes with metrics-based performance management tools.
• Experience building trusted relationships with business partners.
• Oversight of high-risk issues to ensure completeness and efficiency.
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with urgency and accuracy.

Overview

The Global Business Service Center (GBSC) is a shared services center within Mastercard whose mission is to add value to our partners and serve our customers by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results. The Director, Accounting will execute on this mission in collaboration with peers and support of Accounting and Treasury Leadership.

Role

Management & oversight of settlement reconciliation & accounting, cash accounting, and bank administration functions

All About You

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

MBA / CPA / Chartered Accountant preferred

Experience managing a diverse, multi-functional accounting and/or finance group

Experience delivering process improvement through vision, design and build

Experience managing processes with reliance on metrics-based performance management tools

Experience building trusted relationships with business partners

Demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk issues to ensure completeness and efficiency

Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy
