Job summary

PwC Service Delivery Center seeks an OGC Director to lead employment law initiatives across APAC regions, including India and other hubs. The role requires extensive in-house experience, strategic advisory, and collaboration with senior stakeholders to ensure compliant business solutions.

You will manage key regulatory challenges, oversee policy reviews, and provide training on employment law, fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of post-qualification legal experience, with a strong preference for at least 5 years experience as in-house counsel for multinational Indian subsidiary
• Deep understanding of employment and labor law, including federal and local requirements. Preferred experience on employment laws for India, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Manila
• Familiarity with regulatory and other legal requirements for human capital in delivery of professional services in India
• Litigation/arbitration experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently, identify risks, and propose pragmatic solutions while maintaining compliance
• Excellent communication to convey complex issues to non-lawyers
• Experience collaborating with outside counsel to develop solutions quickly and cost-effectively
• Monitor legal/regulatory developments impacting PwC
• Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders and support teams
• Establish processes and implement systems to address recurring issues

Role: OGC Director

Job Requirements and Preferences

• At least 15 years of post-qualification legal experience, with a strong preference for at least 5 years experience as in-house counsel preferably for the Indian subsidiary of a multinational company
• Deep understanding of the key aspects of employment and labor law, including federal and local requirements. Preferred experience on employment laws for India, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Manila
• Familiarity with the key regulatory and other legal requirements associated with the human capital component of the delivery of professional services in India, and experience with compliance with associated laws and regulations
• Litigation and arbitration experience is good to have
• Ability to work independently and pragmatically, identify risks and proposing business solutions while maintaining compliance with laws and regulations
• Ability to exercise intellectual agility, independent judgement, high levels of organization, attention to detail, autonomous balancing of tasks, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to handle high-pressure situations
• Experience collaborating with and managing outside counsel to obtain advice and develop solutions to legal problems in a rapid and cost-effective manner
• Ability to monitor legal and regulatory developments for impact on PwCs business
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with senior members of an organization and their support teams
• Experience establishing processes and implementing systems to address recurring issues
• Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to convey the practical consequences of complex legal issues to non-lawyers
