Role Summary
We are seeking a Digital Twin Modeling Architect to design and develop model-first digital twins, where complex systems are conceptualized, simulated, and validated before any physical infrastructure or live telemetry exists. This role focuses on system modeling, simulation, and scenario analysis to support early‑stage design, capacity planning, risk assessment, and optimization. The models developed in this role will later evolve into full digital twins as real-world infrastructure and data pipelines are deployed.
Key Tasks & Accountability
- Conceptualize design and develop system-level and component-level digital models from first principles.
- Create simulation-driven representations of infrastructure, assets, or processes without relying on live data.
- Define and document assumptions, constraints, boundary conditions, and operating envelopes.
- Perform capacity planning, load analysis, stress testing, and failure simulations.
- Conduct what‑if analysis and design trade‑off studies to support decision-making.
- Validate models using synthetic, proxy, or historical datasets.
- Ensure models are scalable and extensible for future integration with real-time data.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and domain teams during early design and planning phases.
- Maintain high standards of model accuracy, clarity, and documentation.
Experience and Skills
- Proven 2+ years of experience in system modeling, simulation, or model-based design.
- Strong experience with Model-Based Design (MBD) or Model-Based Systems.
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as MATLAB / Simulink, AnyLogic, OpenModelica, ANSYS, COMSOL (or similar).
- Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, Julia, or C++.
- Experience working with incomplete, uncertain, or hypothetical inputs.
- Knowledge of deterministic and probabilistic modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate model assumptions, limitations, and insights.
What You’ll Do
- Build Model-First Digital Twins: create digital models that represent real‑world systems before infrastructure exists.
- Run Simulations & Scenarios: simulate performance, capacity, degradation, and failure and optimize choices.
- Work with Synthetic Data: generate and use synthetic or proxy datasets to validate models.
- Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: work closely with engineering, product, and domain experts to align models with real‑world needs.
- Prepare for Future Twins: ensure models transition smoothly into live digital twins once data becomes available.
What You Will Bring
- Strong expertise in system thinking, abstraction, and simulation-driven design.
- Proven ability to model complex systems without relying on physical infrastructure.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, pre-deployment environments.
- A structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Curiosity, technical depth, and a passion for building high-impact, future-ready systems.
- Startup DNA: bias to action, comfort with ambiguity, love for fast iteration, and flexible, growth mindset.
Why Join Us
- Shape a first-of-its-kind AI + clean energy platform.
- Work with a small, mission-driven team obsessed with impact.
- A chance to leave your mark at the intersection of AI, design, and sustainability.
Note: This role focuses on model-first digital twin development and does not require existing infrastructure, IoT devices, or live telemetry.
