Job description

At Columbia, we’re as passionate about the outdoors as you are. And while our gear is available worldwide, we’re proud to be based in the Pacific Northwest, where natural wonders are our playground.Every product we make and every task we undertake is inspired by the famous words of our founder Gert Boyle: “It’s perfect. Now make it better.” As pioneers of relentless improvement, we are constantly evolving. We believe the outdoors is ours to protect and strive to keep our planet healthy. We believe in empowering people to experience the outdoors to the fullest. And we believe in you. **ABOUT THE POSITION**Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswear’s Digital Technology (CDT) group enables an IT infrastructure and applications across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry. The Quality Analyst II has a solid understanding of technology platforms and utilizes best practices among the quality team. This person reviews test strategies, authors test plans, and authors and executes test cases. The Quality Analyst II uses a variety of testing tools and methods and updates or creates automated test cases. The role executes automated test scripts and identify process and/ technology issues. **HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE** * **Communication, Collaboration & Leadership**: Communicates status in daily meetings, fosters constructive, collaborative and effective communication with others, both internally and externally. Actively participates in design discussions, planning, and retrospective reviews. Explains and simplifies complex information to others.* **Knowledge**: Ensures processes are clearly documented. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions and technologies of the product. Learns about multiple test techniques, tools and business context and technologies of the software used. Addresses problems, proposes solutions, and takes action to resolve, referring more complex issues to senior employees.* **Metrics**: Creates and monitors status dashboards for tracking team progress* **Quality Standards**: Drives analysis of post release quality and defect escapes and implements improvements based on the results of analysis. Completes straightforward projects and provides input for enhancements to improve test coverage and processes. Assesses the testability of components and features built by development teams. Works with project team to establish quality standards or metrics and identify risks.* **Test Strategy & Planning**: Identifies salient test cases based on product domain knowledge and traceability to use cases, enabling on-time sprint deployments. Writes effective and efficient test scripts and test cases. Reviews of test plans are thoughtful and considerate of the customer and time frames needed for releases.* **Test Execution**: Ensures thorough and complete resolution and closure of tickets once deployed to production. Assists developers in desk checks and testing. Works with the team to ensure code is tested at the appropriate level, assists in gaining efficiencies. Identifies and prevents defects early. Proactively works to identify the root cause of problems and identifies efficient ways to reproduce issues. Contributes to bug triage and prioritization processes.* **Mentorship**: Provides peer level technical guidance for team members. Helps more junior team members learn, grow and contribute to the team.**YOU ARE*** **Genuinely curious — you ask why, not just whether.** You want to understand why a tag fires in a specific sequence, what the Liquid personalization token is supposed to render for a given profile, and what a consent mode change means downstream for pixel data. You treat every testability gap as a signal worth investigating, not an obstacle to work around.* **Shift-left by default.** You don't wait for a build to find problems. You read acceptance criteria like an auditor — spotting what's missing, what's ambiguous, and what will create a defect if it isn't clarified before dev starts. Refinement is where your value shows up first.* **A master of async defect communication.** You file bugs the way a distributed team needs you to — self-contained, structured, and immediately actionable. A QA defect in your queue is never a mystery that needs a Zoom call to decode. Your documentation is your reputation.* **Globally minded**, with experience working on geographically distributed teams. You understand the discipline, cadence, and over-communication required to make a US–India collaboration genuinely cohesive — and you've built those habits in practice.* **Methodical and detail-oriented** — you understand that a missed pixel fire or a broken personalization token has real downstream consequences for marketing measurement and campaign performance. You bring that care to every test case you write and every defect you file.* **A collaborative teammate**, comfortable working across engineering, product, analytics, and marketing functions within a globally distributed model. You don't stay in a QA swim lane — you go where quality needs attention.**YOU HAVE*** Bachelor’s Degree required Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.* 4+ years’ experience* Proficiency with **Postman** for API testing — structured request/response validation, test data generation, role-based access checks, and SLA timing verification.* Experience with **email QA** — template render testing using Email on Acid, Litmus, or equivalent; familiarity with ESP platform testing (Zeta, Braze, Emarsys, or similar).* Working knowledge of **tag management QA** — understanding what tag management systems do, how to use browser developer tools to validate tag fires, and how to read data layer objects against a specification. Experience with the **Adobe Experience Platform Debugger** or equivalent tag debugging tooling is strongly preferred.* Solid understanding of **agile/Scrum delivery** — shift-left quality practices, sprint ceremony participation, Definition of Ready and Definition of Done as quality gates, QA sizing in sprint planning.* Experience with **Jira** for defect tracking, defect lifecycle management, and sprint ticket status workflows.* Experience testing across a **multi-phase test lifecycle**: QA → SIT → UAT → E2E → Production validation.* Demonstrated experience working on a **globally distributed or cross-timezone team** — including a US–India GCC model, offshore delivery, or equivalent. Prior experience collaborating with remote stakeholders is strongly preferred.* Strong written and verbal English communication skills — including the ability to write async-friendly defect reports, test status updates, and QA documentation that remote teammates can act on independently without a live call.**Nice to Have*** Experience with **Adobe Analytics** validation — understanding how events, eVars, props, and conversion metrics are captured and how to confirm accuracy against a measurement plan (SDR).* Familiarity with **OneTrust** or consent management platforms and how they gate tag firing (GDPR/CCPA context).* Experience testing on **Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC)** — navigating Business Manager for test data setup, order creation, and profile configuration.* Knowledge of **CI/CD pipeline integration** for test automation — CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent; understanding of artifact reporting and suite segmentation (smoke, regression, integration).* Exposure to **Liquid templating** in ESP platforms — ability to validate personalization logic and token rendering in email templates. #LI-SA1#Hybrid*This job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function in the company.*
