Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, via Optum, is seeking a Digital Product Manager in Bengaluru to define and deliver digital healthcare and pharmacy solutions. You will translate business needs into capabilities, manage backlogs, and partner with engineering and UX to drive product delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in IT roles within healthcare, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with Agile practices and product life cycle management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in IT, incl. healthcare informatics, product management, product owner, or business analysis roles.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead product strategy and roadmap for digital healthcare and pharmacy solutions.
  • Elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into capabilities, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, and release priorities.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate capabilities, define solution alternatives, and prioritize product releases.
  • Effectively communicate product vision, roadmap, and feature requirements to development teams.
  • Work closely with UX and engineering teams to shape product design and user experience.
  • Generate release notes, demo scripts, and conduct product demonstrations for stakeholders and clients.
  • Independently identify and analyze relevant data to support product decisions and business cases.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product capabilities and feature requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by acting on feedback received during retrospectives and product reviews.
  • Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation across the product portfolio.
  • Collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams to assess requirements and deliver solutions.

As a Digital Product Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the processes related to the definition and delivery of digital products. You will develop functional specifications, including capabilities, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with business and technology teams to define product strategy, prioritize features, and drive successful product delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead product strategy and roadmap for digital healthcare and pharmacy solutions

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Pharmacy, Healthcare, Allied Health Sciences, MCA, or a related field
  • 5+ years of IT industry experience, including at least 3 years in Healthcare Informatics, Product Management, Product Owner, or Business Analysis roles
  • Experience in Healthcare, Pharmacy, PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management), or related healthcare technology domains
  • Experience defining capabilities, features, user stories, wireframes, and acceptance criteria
  • Proven experience managing product backlogs and working within Agile product development frameworks
  • Experience collaborating with development teams throughout feature implementation and delivery
  • Solid understanding of healthcare workflows, pharmacy systems, prescription adjudication, specialty pharmacy operations, and member journeys
  • Proven solid analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, Healthcare, or a related discipline
  • Experience with voice, digital, self-service, IVR, contact center, chatbot, conversational AI, or customer engagement platforms
  • Experience launching MVPs and managing products through the entire product lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Rally, Aha!, or similar product management and requirements management tools
  • Knowledge of Optum domain, prescription adjudication systems, specialty pharmacy subsystems, and prescription member workflows
