Knowledge Area and Key Responsibility of OCI Admin

• Deploy, configure, and manage OCI resources, including compute instances, storage, networking, ExaCS/EXCC/DBaaS databases, ZDLRA.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and scalability.
• Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure best practices and standards.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Windows Operating System.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of OCI Networking.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of ZDLRA (Oracle's Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance).

Security and Compliance

• Ensure OCI environments are secure by implementing proper access controls, encryption, and security policies.
• Monitor and manage security alerts and compliance issues.
• Regularly review and update security configurations to meet compliance requirements.

Automation, Optimization & FinOps

• Optimize cloud resource usage and costs by monitoring and adjusting resource allocations.
• OCI FinOps reporting and management.
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.

Monitoring and Incident Management

• Set up monitoring and alerting for OCI resources using tools like Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Grafana, or other third-party tools.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to resolve infrastructure problems.
• Ensure high availability and uptime of OCI services and applications.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with application development, IT operations, and security teams to support cloud infrastructure needs.
• Assist in planning and implementing cloud migrations and upgrades.
• Provide support and guidance to users on OCI best practices and usage.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain up-to-date documentation on cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Generate regular reports on cloud resource usage, performance, and security.
• Document and communicate changes, incidents, and resolutions to relevant stakeholders.

Continuous Learning and Evaluation

• Stay updated with the latest OCI services, features, and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and solutions to improve infrastructure performance and security.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications
