Skills and Experience
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree (or currently working toward one) in Engineering, Computer Science, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Foundational understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), smart buildings, or IoT technologies.
Exposure to open communication protocols used in building automation, including BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, MQTT, or similar.
Understanding of HVAC, lighting controls, energy management systems, metering, and building control systems.
Experience supporting or contributing to projects involving IoT sensors, smart lighting, energy management systems, or digital building technologies.
Familiarity with engineering design documentation, technical submittals, system architecture diagrams, points schedules, and network topology drawings.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design/documentation tools.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Sheets.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to produce accurate, well‑structured reports and technical documentation.
Experience in a consulting, engineering, technology, smart buildings, controls, or systems integration environment, including internships, placements, or graduate programmes.
Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, wireless communications) is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
