Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare the dialysis machine for the dialysis procedure
• To carry out the dialysis procedure as per the doctors’ advice. Post dialysis assessment of the patient.
• Checking patients’ health conditions before and after dialysis.
• To train the subordinates about dialysis procedures.
• Counsel the patients with regard to the dialysis procedures.
• Technical monitoring of dialysis machines.
• Coordinate with external service personnel for the maintenance of dialysis machines.
• Constantly monitor patients’ condition during dialysis procedure and contact the Duty Medical Officer in case of need.
• Ensure that the dialyser and tubings are to be kept in the allotted place for each patient and make sure that the tubings are used for appropriate patient.
• Ensure that the dialysis machines are cleaned at appropriate intervals.
• Exercise utmost caution and politeness when attending to patients/attenders
• Carbolize the reuse area
• To maintain proper departmental policy issued by the Management in safe custody
• Coordinate with doctors for kidney transplant surgery and coordinate with the staff nurses to carry out preoperative procedures for the patient and donor
• Any other work as and when entrusted by the superiors from time to time
