Job summary

Max Healthcare is seeking a Radiation Safety Officer to ensure safe administration of radiation and supervise imaging procedures across X-Ray, MRI, CT, and fluoroscopy. The role emphasizes privacy, patient communication, and adherence to safety and environmental policies in a hospital setting.

The candidate will lead training on radiation safety, manage equipment upkeep, and maintain records of safety compliance and incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience in radiation safety and imaging procedures.
• Strong understanding of infection control and safety policies.
• Ability to train staff on radiation safety protocols.
• Proficiency in using imaging equipment and related safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• To ensure administration of Radiation in a safe and prescribed manner.
• To respect the privacy and confidentiality of patients, visitors and physicians.
• To demonstrate effective application of technical & professional knowledge.
• To assist consultants in carrying out various imaging procedures including image guided biopsies, drainage, aspirations.
• To maintain effective communication and ensure that patient is properly informed and prepared for test and procedure.
• To ensure error free routine tests and examinations and record the results in department registers.
• To understand and operate the equipments and consoles to perform X-Ray, MRI, CT, conventional radiology and fluoroscopy procedures.
• To maintain and upkeep all related equipments of the department used in Conventional Radiology X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI and Fluoroscopy.
• To ensure consent form is filled and explained to the patient whenever required by the doctor.
• To work with the aim to save environment in all possible ways.
• To have complete orientation of IMS system of Hospital.
• To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme (DMP) of the hospital.
• Comply with the service quality Process, environmental & occupational issues & policies of the respective area.
• Comply with patient safety policy.
• To record Log of Incidents for the occupational events , incidents of the department.
• To assist in training of new employees.
• To train and educate subordinates regarding functioning of all equipments of the department.
• To train the junior staff about environment safety protocols.
• To implement infection control policy & proper waste
• To ensure minimal wastage of films and repeat examinations and to ensure that adequate stocks of materials are maintained in the department.
• To be well groomed, punctual & adhere to company policies & practices.
• Good domain knowledge.
