DevOps Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary DevOps Lead to lead our Platform Engineering and DevSecOps teams. In this role, you will own the strategic roadmap for our mission‑critical data infrastructure, automation pipelines, and internal developer tools. You will manage, mentor, and scale a high‑performing engineering organization, ensuring 99.9% availability of our core systems while driving an AI‑native operational culture. The ideal candidate bridges deep technical expertise in large‑scale data systems and infrastructure‑as‑code with a proven track record of empathetic, high‑impact team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Data Platform Evolution: Oversee the architecture, scaling, and modernization of complex, large‑scale, high‑throughput data platforms (including Vertica and distributed data stores).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive the strategy for automated environment provisioning, configuration management, and secrets orchestration using tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Internal Developer Platforms: Build and maintain seamless Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) to improve engineering velocity and abstract infrastructure complexities for product teams.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain strict SLAs/SLOs, ensuring 99.9% availability of production environments. Champion robust Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
• Team Management & Strategy People Leadership: Direct, mentor, and scale an engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and accountability.
• Modern Operations: Lead initiatives to transition traditional operations into AI‑native workflows and modern DevSecOps cultures.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all platform architectures and processes comply with global organizational standards, including ISO 9001 and secure‑by‑design methodologies.
• Cross‑functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align platform roadmaps with organizational goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Professional Experience

• 7+ years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong focus on Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, and Big Data infrastructure.
• Proven management track record leading sizable engineering teams and managing complex, cross‑functional technical initiatives.

Technical Skill Set

• Data Platforms: Extensive hands‑on experience managing and upgrading massive, mission‑critical data clusters (e.g., Vertica v9.x to v23.x, PostgreSQL, or ClickHouse) without downtime.
• Cloud & Orchestration: Strong expertise in Kubernetes container orchestration and modern cloud architecture.
• Automation & Security: Deep proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and secure secret management (HashiCorp Vault).
• Process Mastery: Demonstrated experience implementing ISO 9001 standards, BCP/DR frameworks, and high‑availability design patterns.
