Job summary

Playo offers an internship focused on building and refining cloud-based systems to support engineering teams. You will work with AWS services (EC2, ALB, CodeBuild, ECR, ECS) and container workflows to enable automated builds, testing, and deployments.

You’ll develop local development environments with Docker Compose for testing without prod access, while instrumenting systems with metrics, traces, and structured logs to enhance observability and cost awareness across cloud resources.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ALB, CodeBuild, ECR and ECS.
• Familiarity with Docker and container workflows.
• Knowledge of Bitbucket Pipelines or similar CI/CD tools.
• Understanding of CloudWatch, SNS/SQS for monitoring and messaging.
• Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Ability to design reproducible local environments for teams.
• Interest in distributed systems and observability practices.

About the role

• Work with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies to support Playo's engineering teams
• Build and refine automated systems that compile code, store container images, and roll out new versions
• Create local development environments using Docker Compose so engineers can test and build without production access
• Instrument the system with metrics, traces, and visibility into traffic flowing between services
• Implement structured logs and track request flows across the application stack
• Analyze cloud spending and identify opportunities to reduce costs
