Job summary

WebEngage is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate high-scale, secure cloud infrastructure in Mumbai. You will own portions of the infrastructure roadmap and drive cost optimization and reliability across AWS/Azure/GCP.

The role requires strong Linux, automation with Python/Ansible, CI/CD tooling, and monitoring (Prometheus, DataDog, Sentry). You will collaborate across teams to improve security, compliance, and incident response while delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Computer Science or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in running high-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration fundamentals.
• Hands-on with Shell scripting, Python, Ansible.
• Extensive experience with AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Experience in deployment automation and CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, GitLab) and monitoring (Prometheus, DataDog, Sentry).
• Knowledge of distributed tech (Kafka, Elasticsearch), JVMs, Nginx, HAProxy.
• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with B2B software and translating customer requirements into roadmaps.
• Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-scale and secure infrastructure.
• Plan and own your slice of the infrastructure roadmap.
• Enhance security practices around everything infrastructure.
• Drive organization-wide infosec and compliance programs like ISO, SOC2, etc.
• Review operational efficiency of infrastructure and research ways to improve it.
• Design and operate robust scaling of distributed technologies.
• Research and implement methods to reduce cloud costs.
• Boost platform reliability with CI/CD, centralized logging, observability, and more.
• Automate robust provisioning of the entire infrastructure.
• Design and perform dry-runs of BCP and DR practices.
• Monitor critical metrics and help reduce reaction time to incidents.
• Measure system resilience and track performance and availability SLAs.

• Automate robust provisioning of the entire infrastructure.
• Design and perform dry-runs of BCP and DR practices.
• Monitor critical metrics and help reduce reaction time to incidents.
• Measure system resilience and track performance and availability SLAs.

Requirements:

• B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or a related engineering/science field
• 3 - 6 Years of experience in running high-scale cloud infrastructure
• Strong fundamentals in Linux/Unix Administration
• Hands-on experience with Shell scripting, Python, Ansible.
• Extensive hands-on experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (preferable), Azure, GCP
• Experience in deployment automation, CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Prometheus, DataDog, Sentry
• Knowledge of databases, architecture of distributed technologies (kafka, elasticsearch etc.), JVMs, web servers (nginx), proxies (ha-proxy)
• An intrinsic desire to go deeper beneath the abstractions offered by new-age systems.
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with B2B software is preferable
• You have experience in gathering, translating and prioritizing customer requirements and defining product roadmaps
• You have excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.
