Job summary

XenonStack Private Limited in Mumbai is seeking a hands-on DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join the Managed Services team. The role will support a large-scale data platform across AWS, on-prem, and hybrid components, handling L2/L3 operations in a regulated enterprise environment.

The candidate will automate deployments, manage AWS infrastructure, and maintain monitoring with robust observability. On-site work in Mumbai with 16x5 coverage and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS infrastructure management including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Proficient scripting in Python and/or Shell.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools such as Grafana or Splunk.

ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT

We are building a Managed Services team to support a large-scale enterprise data platform. The platform spans Cloudera on AWS, an on-premises Oracle data warehouse, Oracle GoldenGate replication, Apache Spark for ETL and data processing, and Alation for data governance. L1 support is handled by our existing team; this role is part of L2/L3 operations.

ROLE MISSION

Support and automate the AWS-based infrastructure and deployment processes of the data platform, improving reliability, observability and release quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and support AWS infrastructure for the data platform in production.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments and releases.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks.
• Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting and observability for platform components.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, and contribute to RCA.
• Manage configuration, environments and access in line with client security policies.
• Work with DataOps and Security teams to support the Cloudera environment and Spark workloads.
• Maintain documentation for pipelines, automation and runbooks.

REPORTING

Reports to the Managed Services delivery lead; works with the DataOps and Data Security teams.

HOW WE WORK WITH AI

AI is part of the daily workflow at XenonStack, not an add-on.

• Within XenonStack's own systems, AI tools are open for use: log and incident analysis, runbook and RCA drafting, scripting and documentation.
• At the client site in Mumbai, you follow the client's compliance and information security policy: use only client-approved tools, and never put client data, logs, credentials, queries or configurations into any tool the client has not approved.
• Every AI-assisted output is verified by you before it is relied on or shared.
• Come ready to talk about what is in your AI stack, how you verify its output, and how you keep it compliant in a regulated environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Releases go out through the pipeline with a tested rollback, not by hand.
• Alerts catch platform issues before users report them.
• Repetitive manual tasks replaced by automation each month.
• No secrets or access outside client security policy.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

• Hands-on AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch)
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent) and Git
• Scripting in Python and/or Shell
• Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or similar)

GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Cloudera or distributed data processing environments

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent; AWS certification is an advantage
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments; regulated-industry exposure preferred
• Strong automation mindset and clear communication

• Regulated production environment; background verification (BGV) is mandatory.
• Support model: 16x5 core support with P1 24x7 on-call, on a rotational basis, as per the client's support model.
• Relocation support and on-call allowance are discussed at the offer stage.
• Compensation as per company policy and budget band.
