XenonStack is seeking a DataOps Engineer to join a L2/L3 operations team. Based in Mohali with on-site client work in Mumbai, you will monitor production data pipelines, ETL jobs, and scheduling workflows on Cloudera/Oracle data platform, resolving routine failures and escalating complex issues to senior engineers.

The role demands Spark log analysis, SQL/Oracle proficiency, Linux basics, and experience with job schedulers like Control-M, Autosys or Airflow.

ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT

We are building a Managed Services team to support a large-scale enterprise data platform. The platform spans Cloudera on AWS, an on-premises Oracle data warehouse, Oracle GoldenGate replication, Apache Spark for ETL and data processing, and Alation for data governance. L1 support is handled by our existing team; this role is part of L2/L3 operations.

ROLE MISSION

Monitor and support production data pipelines, ETL jobs and scheduled workflows on the Cloudera and Oracle data platform, resolving routine failures and escalating complex issues to senior engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor data pipelines, Spark jobs, ETL workflows and scheduler runs, and act on failures and delays.
• Troubleshoot Spark job failures, data load issues and routine data processing problems.
• Support day-to-day operations of the Cloudera and Oracle data platform.
• Log, track and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs; elevate to L3 or senior engineers with clear diagnostics.
• Maintain runbooks, incident records and shift handover documentation.
• Run routine health checks and operational reports.

REPORTING

Reports to the Senior DataOps Engineers and the Managed Services delivery lead.

HOW WE WORK WITH AI

AI is part of the daily workflow at XenonStack, not an add-on.

• Within XenonStack's own systems, AI tools are open for use: log and incident analysis, runbook and RCA drafting, scripting and documentation.
• At the client site in Mumbai, you follow the client's compliance and information security policy: use only client-approved tools, and never put client data, logs, credentials, queries or configurations into any tool the client has not approved.
• Every AI-assisted output is verified by you before it is relied on or shared.
• Come ready to talk about what is in your AI stack, how you verify its output, and how you keep it compliant in a regulated environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Job failures picked up and acted on within the agreed SLA.
• Escalations arrive with clear diagnostics, so seniors do not have to start from scratch.

• Repeat failures reduced by fixing root causes, not just rerunning jobs.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

• Hands-on experience supporting Apache Spark jobs (log analysis, failure triage, reruns)
• Strong SQL and working knowledge of Oracle
• Linux fundamentals and shell commands

GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Exposure to the Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, YARN)
• Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate and Alation
• Basic Python or shell scripting

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA/B.Sc. (IT/CS) or equivalent
• Experience in an enterprise production support environment; regulated-industry exposure preferred
• Strong troubleshooting ability, clear communication and willingness to work in shifts

• Joining location: Mohali; work location: Mumbai, strictly on-site at the client.
• Regulated production environment; background verification (BGV) is mandatory.
• Support model: 16x5 core support with P1 24x7 on-call, on a rotational basis, as per the client's support model.
• Relocation support and on-call allowance are discussed at the offer stage.
• Compensation as per company policy and budget band.
