As a Dev Ops Engineer , where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unapparelled customer experiences.
To be successful as a Dev Ops Engineer, you should have experience with:
Basic/ Essential Qualifications
- Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture: Design, provision, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform). Experience with multi-account strategies, VPC design, transit gateways, and hybrid cloud architectures. Implement API Gateway patterns including REST/WebSocket APIs, custom authorizers, and integration with Lambda/backend services.
- Configuration Management:Implement infrastructure automation using Chef (cookbooks, recipes, roles, environments). Experience with version control for infrastructure code, testing frameworks (ChefSpec, InSpec), and maintaining Chef Server/Automate environments.
- Observability & Monitoring: Design comprehensive monitoring strategies using AWS CloudWatch (custom metrics, dashboards, alarms, Logs Insights). Integrate distributed monitoring with ITRS Geneos for real-time infrastructure health, AppDynamics for APM and business transaction monitoring, and ESaaS for enterprise-scale observability.
- Container Orchestration: Build production-grade containerized applications with Docker (multi-stage builds, image optimization, security scanning). Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters including pod scheduling, resource management, service mesh integration, ingress controllers, persistent storage, and cluster autoscaling.
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Architect end-to-end GitLab CI/CD pipelines with multi-stage deployments, artifact management, and environment promotion strategies. Implement automated quality gates integrating SonarQube (code coverage, technical debt analysis) and Veracode (SAST/DAST scanning). Configure pipeline-as-code, shared libraries, and deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling updates).
- Systems Administration & Automation: Expert-level Unix/Linux system administration including performance tuning, kernel parameters, systemd service management, and troubleshooting. Develop complex automation scripts in Bash and PowerShell for deployment orchestration, log analysis, backup/recovery procedures, and operational tasks.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including TLS 1.2/1.3 configuration, certificate lifecycle management (generation, renewal, rotation), mutual TLS authentication, and secure key storage. Configure security groups, NACLs, IAM policies following least-privilege principles, and encryption at rest/in transit.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have
- Security Tooling: Integrate CyberArk for privileged access management and secrets rotation, implement automated Veracode scanning in CI/CD workflows with policy enforcement, configure SonarQube quality profiles and custom rules, and manage CSM (Cloud Security Management) for compliance monitoring.
- Network Engineering: Design and troubleshoot complex network topologies including VPN configurations, Direct Connect, route tables, BGP routing, DNS management (Route53), and load balancing strategies (ALB/NLB). Configure firewall rules, security policies, and network segmentation.
- Application Server Management: Deploy, configure, and optimize Apache HTTP Server (virtual hosts, mod_proxy, SSL/TLS, performance tuning) and JBoss/WildFly application servers (domain/standalone modes, datasource configuration, clustering, JVM tuning, deployment strategies).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional OR AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
