DevOps Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing our software development lifecycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and updates. You will champion automation, foster collaboration, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. AIRINA – AIR bus Enterprise Information Archive – is our latest archiving solution, provided globally to all our business divisions within Airbus – Commercial Aircraft, Helicopter, Defense and Space. AIRINA will gradually replace the current legacy archives. More efficient new technology will enable unprecedented improvements in reliability, quality, and performance. AIRINA will bring together People, Process, Content, and Data and represents another step toward Airbus' transformation into a data‑driven company. The Platforms team in India (aka Cadence Team) plays a crucial role in enabling our development efforts. We are dedicated to the end‑to‑end maintenance and support of our core infrastructure, including Camunda, MarkLogic, Splunk, Ansible, Jenkins, OpenShift, and a comprehensive suite of DevOps tools, ensuring seamless operations for our development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments.
- Integrate various development, testing, and deployment tools into the CI/CD workflow using Jenkins.
- Manage and optimize artifact repositories using Artifactory for efficient storage, versioning, and distribution of binaries and dependencies.
- Implement and manage static code analysis gates using SonarQube & CheckmarxOne within the CI/CD pipeline to ensure code quality and identify vulnerabilities early.
- Ensure continuous integration of code changes and efficient delivery of software.
- Implement and manage infrastructure using Ansible; maintain a centralized playbook repository in Git; develop modular and reusable roles; use Jinja2 templating for dynamic configurations; manage inventory files for environment segregation.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (OpenShift) ensuring security, cost‑effectiveness, and optimal performance.
- Work with container technologies like Docker for packaging applications; manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Build and sustain critical monitoring, logging, and alerting infrastructure with Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk to deliver real‑time visibility into application and system performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis of production errors, and implement preventive measures; design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Collaborate within a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) to align DevOps practices with program objectives and PI goals; collaborate closely with European counterparts; act as a liaison between development, operations, and cross‑functional teams; communicate technical issues and solutions effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders; participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 4 to 6 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Excellent English communication skills crucial for seamless interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git and Git workflows (GitHub, GitLab).
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably OpenShift.
- Expertise with CI/CD tool – Jenkins.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Shell).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool – Ansible.
- Expertise in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration, with practical experience in crafting Helm charts.
- Hands‑on experience with Artifactory for artifact management and binary repositories.
- Hands‑on experience in implementing and managing SonarQube for code quality and security analysis.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools – Grafana, Prometheus & Splunk.
- Understanding of networking concepts & system administration (Linux/Windows).
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team spirit.
- Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
