Job summary

Airtel is seeking an experienced sourcing and procurement professional in India to lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives for electronic devices and IT hardware. You will develop best-in-class strategies, drive supplier selection, negotiate contracts, and manage BOM costing to achieve project savings while mitigating risks.

The role emphasizes localization for BOMs, relationship management with key suppliers, and crafting metrics to monitor market signals, pricing trends, and capacity.

Qualifications

• 5–12 years of sourcing/procurement experience in electronics/IT hardware.
• Experience in RFPs, negotiations, BOM costing, PO management.
• Vendor management and contract negotiations with ODM/OEM

Job description

• Introduce, develop, and continuously improve best-in-class sourcing techniques, strategies, incentives and practices with a focus on risk management and project savings
• Evaluate BOM, negotiate with key BOM suppliers and optimize it further, drive localization for various E-BOM, P-BOM and M-BOM components
• Develop leading metrics and indices to manage supply/demand including commodity pricing, interest rates, exchange rates, manufacturing capacity and other market signals
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize the total cost of ownership
• Benchmark the best practices while proposing any sourcing decisions

Experience Required:

• 5-12 years of relevant experience in sourcing/procurement of various Electronic Devices, IT hardware, software including strategic supplier selection, contracting, software strategy planning and costing, ODM/OEM shortlisting
• Mandatory experience of driving RFPs, negotiations, BOM level costing, purchase order management, contracts negotiation, supplier management, project management, E-Sourcing (Oracle/SAP)
• Strong experience of procuring smart/electronic/telecom devices
