Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Development Engineer to design, develop and implement Java-based microservices using Spring Boot. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, ensure code quality, and work on cloud-enabled, scalable software solutions.

The role emphasizes architecture, testing, documentation, and collaboration across teams to deliver value to customers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Data JPA.
• Microservices architecture and REST API development.
• Relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Build and dependency management with Maven or Gradle.
• Docker containerization.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
• Kafka or RabbitMQ messaging.
• OAuth2/JWT API security.
• Cloud familiarity, preferably Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software components as per design docs.
• Ensure components are documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration.
• Architect solutions, test code, and build/deploy CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide work estimates and guide features/technologies for projects.
• Contribute to scalable, cloud-based managed services and innovate with the team.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Java development (8 or above)
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA
• Proven experience in Microservices architecture and REST API development
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven and/or Gradle
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
• Understanding of API security mechanisms including OAuth2 and JWT
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Prior experience in Banking / BFSI domain
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Experience working in highly scalable and distributed systems
