Job summary

Khanglobalstudies in India is seeking a Desktop Publishing Operator (DTP) to create visually engaging layouts for books, magazines, brochures, and other materials using Adobe InDesign. You will import text and graphics, adjust typography, and prepare final files for printing.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Desktop Publishing, at least 5 years of experience in publication houses, and proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MathType.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent certification in Desktop Publishing (DTP).
• Strong layout and text formatting skills using InDesign.
• Experience with publishing workflows is a plus.

Desktop Publishing Operator (DTP)

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Adobe InDesign to create visually appealing and reader-friendly layouts for communication materials such as books, magazines, brochures, and others.
• Edit graphics, including photographs and illustrations, using Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Import text and graphics into publishing software and integrate them to create cohesive pages.
• Adjust text properties such as size, column width, and spacing to achieve desired layouts.
• Revise layouts and make corrections as necessary to meet project requirements.
• Submit final files for printing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Select formatting options such as type size, style, column width, and spacing to enhance readability and aesthetics.
• Scan and edit photographs and other images to ensure optimal quality for publication.
• Prioritize workload effectively under pressure and strict deadlines, organizing tasks efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or equivalent certification course in Desktop Publishing (DTP).

Preferred Criteria:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a DTP Operator, with a focus on layout design and text formatting primarily in Adobe InDesign.
• A DTP operator with experience in publication houses will be preferred.
• Proficiency in software applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Mathtype.
• Good typing speed in English, Hindi, and Math.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in layout design and text formatting.
