Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced design engineer with 2–7 years of experience in 3D modeling using Smart Plant 3D, Plant 3D, BIM tools, and 2D drafting. You will lead a team of designers, ensure high-quality drawings, and uphold drafting standards across projects.

The role requires strong communication, mentoring abilities, and a commitment to delivering engineering solutions while coordinating with clients and project teams on complex infrastructure assignments.

Qualifications

• Expertise in 3D modeling using Smart Plant 3D/Plant 3D/E3D/BIM and related tools.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting and drafting standards (Layers/Fonts/Size/Styles/Blocks).
• Experience in drawings extraction (layout/sectionals/isometrics) and clash reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Designers/Draftsmen.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Ensure delivery and process compliance; maintain client confidence with proactive ideas.

Purpose & Scope of Position

• Expertise in 3D modeling tool: Smart Plant 3D/ Plant 3D/E3D/BIM/Revit/Tekla (RCC &structural) &2D drafting tool: AutoCAD/MicroStation/SP PID,
• Expertise in development of 3D models for detailed engineering projects &Familiar with all the required Drafting Standards like Layers/Fonts/Size/Styles/Blocks
• Expertise in Drawings Extraction like Layout/Sectional/Isometrics
• Expertise in clash report extraction and resolution
• Familiar with Engineering codes and standards
• Familiar with drawing extraction and report extraction
• Familiar with drafting standards
• Ability to lead the team of Designers/Draftsman
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Training and mentoring team members
• Ensuring compliance to delivery and people processes
• Generate & maintain client confidence through pro-active corrective & progressive ideas
