Job summary

Vila Emachwirken seeks a lead engineer to design hydraulic and mechanical components for high-efficiency borewell and openwell pumps. You will design impellers, diffusers, casings, shafts, and bearing housings, and perform hydraulic calculations to meet target head and efficiency.

Collaborating with Production, Foundry, and Machining teams, you will ensure manufacturable, cost-effective designs while adhering to IS 8034/IS 14220 or international standards and driving material optimization and

Responsibilities

• Lead the hydraulic and mechanical design of high-efficiency V4/V6 borewell and openwell pumps.
• Design and optimize impellers, diffusers, casings, shafts, bearing housings, and other critical pump components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to achieve the required head, discharge, efficiency, and power consumption.
• Review and approve AutoCAD drawings, ensuring strict adherence to GD&T standards.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of field failures and prototype test defects, and implement effective design improvements.
• Work closely with Production, Foundry, and Machining teams to ensure manufacturable and cost-effective designs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IS 8034, IS 14220, or international equivalents).
• Drive cost reduction through material optimization and value engineering.
• Being responsible for NPD, pattern development and prototype development.
