Job summary

Normet in India (Jaipur) seeks a Design Engineer with strong experience in Electrical and Hydraulics design and hands-on execution for construction/mining machines. You will own end-to-end electrical/hydraulics systems from concept and design to wiring, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting on the shop floor.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with strong experience in Electrical/Hydraulics design and hands‑on execution for construction/mining machines. The role requires end‑to‑end ownership of electrical/hydraulics systems from concept and design to wiring, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting on the shop floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct feasibility studies for proposed upgrades and machine modifications.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical & mechanical spare parts used, including selection, compatibility, and replacement for machine upgrades and modifications
• Prepare and modify electrical schematics (Zuken E3, Inventor preferred), wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of electrical faults like Installation, wiring and testing of alternators, starters, ECUs, sensors, lighting systems and control panels
• Inspection of Upgrades & Modification Kits.
• Develop panel layouts, routing diagrams and cable schedules.
• Select electrical components such as motors, drives (VFD/Servo), PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, contactors and safety devices.
• Support design improvements based on field feedback and machine performance.
• Prepare technical Electrical documentation, SOPs and commissioning checklists.
• Ensure smooth interfacing between various product data management software.
• Upgrade documentation of remanufactured equipment based on the changes made.
• Creation of Electric spare part illustrations from manufacturing drawings (or from scratch).
• Prepare project plans embracing Quality, Cost, Delivery objectives.
• Qualitative and Quantitative review of available Work Instructions/Standard Operating Processes.
• Define work instruction requirements for upgrade & modification products and preparing/maintaining necessary documentation.
• Maintain communication with Service Centre Head / Plant Head and Other concerned senior members to obtain security information, report unusual concerns and share new ideas that may contribute to improve Service Centre operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES

• Experience in Electrical Design, Engineering processes - electrical schematics (Zuken E3, Inventor preferred), wiring diagrams, BOM creation, Engineering change.
• Around 4-5 years of relevant experience in construction / mining machinery industry.
• Thorough knowledge on steps involved and resources used in Disassembly, Assembly, Trouble Shooting, Testing of mobile machineries preferably in Mining/Earthmoving, Construction Industries
• Proficiency in understanding and interpreting Electrical & hydraulic specifications & drawings.
• Possess clear thought process and expertise in writing Technical Documents in English language.
• Detail Oriented & Good communication ability both verbal and in writing
• Effective interpersonal skills, Team Player with high integrity and professionalism
• Strong focus towards Safety, Quality and Customer Satisfaction
• Knowledge and experience of operating diagnostic software, engineering documentations in software platform. Basic knowledge of operating ERP system will be an advantage.
