Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Design Engineer - Electrical in Pune to migrate schematics to EPLAN P8, design mounting solutions for cabinets, and generate complete manufacturing documentation. You will handle wiring layouts, routes, and data structures, ensuring accurate BOMs and part lists for production.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience, strong EPLAN skills, and knowledge of control cabinets and wiring practices.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical cabinet construction and wiring.
• Strong proficiency with EPLAN and related tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Migrate E3 schematics to EPLAN P8.
• Layout cabinets, enclosures, mounting plates, rails and door assemblies.
• Create wiring lists, drilling and cutting lists, and BOMs.
• Generate manufacturing docs and ensure data consistency across systems.
• Work with Smart Wiring interface to filter, sort and interpret status indicators.
• Incorporate project changes and maintain up-to-date electrical data.

Position Title:

Design Engineer - Electrical

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate E3 schematics to EPLAN P8
• Placement of:
• Cabinets and enclosures
• Mounting plates, door assemblies, and roof assemblies
• Wiring ducts and mounting rails
• Devices on mounting rails or directly onto the mounting plate
• Working with drilling patterns and cutouts (e.g., cutouts in doors or side panels).
• Automatic routing and length calculation (routing paths, wire ducts, cable bundles).
• Generation of manufacturing documentation (BOMs, drilling/cutting lists, wiring lists)
• Operating the Smart Wiring interface (filtering, sorting, status indicators, messages)
• Understanding the step-by-step wiring guidance (source/destination, cross-sections, terminals, cores)
• Incorporating project changes (importing and synchronizing updated data
• Practical wiring techniques (core lengths, bending radii, stripping, ferrules, labelling).

B.E/B-Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

3-5 yrs

Skills Required

• Strong proficiency in EPLAN (Electric P8, Pro Panel 3D layout, Smart wiring)
• Electrical Engineering / Control Cabinet Construction
• Knowledge of typical components (fuses, circuit breakers, terminals, PLCs, power supplies, modular devices, motor protection devices, etc.).
• Practical knowledge of how control cabinets are constructed (mounting plates, mounting rails, wiring ducts, minimum clearances, heat dissipation, accessibility for maintenance)
• Proficiency in handling schematics
• Understanding of article data: parts featuring 3D macros, mounting types, drilling patterns, and connection definitions
• Structuring of projects and devices (device tags, function definitions, mounting locations)
• Specific Knowledge of Smart Wiring
• Practical Knowledge of Wiring/Manufacturing Understanding what information assemblers truly require and how they work at their workstations

Added advantage:

1. Integration of Electrical cabinet with PLC and testing of complete functionality of the system.
2. Familiar with ANSI, USDA, CE, IEC and ISO standards.
3. Knowledge of Ladder Logic, SCADA / HMI.
4. Development of GA, IA, SLD, Control circuit & Schematic Drawings
