Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru is searching for an engineer to design and review high-voltage Control and Protection panels, ensuring compliance with project schedules. You will coordinate with customers and project management while using software tools like e3 and AutoCAD. Strong knowledge of numerical protection relays is essential.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in high-voltage design and engineering, fluency in Hindi and English, and a commitment to safety and integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in engineering and design of high-voltage protection panels.
• Experience with control and protection panels up to 765 kV.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review General Arrangement, Bill of Materials, and Schematic drawings.
• Coordinate with the Customer and Project Management for technical discussions.
• Participate in FAT/SAT and coordinate during these stages.
• Maintain the Quality Management System for Design and Engineering.
• Design and engineer Control and Protection panels up to 765 kV level.
• Apply numerical protection knowledge for various relays.
• Design Substation Automation Systems including System Architecture.
• Prepare manufacturing documents such as wiring schedules and label lists.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver panels/systems per schedule.
• Travel across India as required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review General Arrangement, Bill of Materials, and Schematic drawings and submit to the customer per project schedule.
• Coordinate with the Customer and Project Management for technical discussions and timely release of documents.
• Participate in FAT/SAT and coordinate with the Customer and Project Management during these stages.
• Follow and maintain the Quality Management System related to Design and Engineering.
• Design and engineer Control and Protection panels up to 765 kV level, including two main transfer schemes and one‑half breaker schemes.
• Apply numerical protection knowledge for Transformer Differential, Distance, Line Differential, Generator, Busbar, Over‑current, Earth fault relays, and Bay control units.
• Design Substation Automation Systems, including System Architecture, FDS, IO lists, and SAS Panel drawings.
• Prepare manufacturing documents such as wiring schedules, label lists, and cutout details.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Supply Chain Management, and the Customer to deliver panels/systems as per project schedule.
• Travel across India as required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in e3, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in Hindi and English.
• In-depth knowledge of numerical protection relays and substation control systems.
• Experience in engineering and design of high‑voltage protection panels (up to 765 kV).
