Job summary

Speed Global in Bengaluru invites a Mechanical Design Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to contribute to design and drafting for machined components. You will create subassembly/assembly drawings using 2D and 3D CAD tools and prepare BOMs within an ERP context.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical Engineering, GD&T knowledge, and familiarity with CATIA/V5 and AutoCAD. You should be proactive, a good communicator, and a team player, with strong drafting standards and material knowledge.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in design and drafting, preferably in machine design.
• Graduation in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute with good academics.
• Exposure to PDM/PLM and ERP systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D drawings, AutoCAD, and CATIA V5.
• Familiarity with GD&T and drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Create subassembly and assembly drawings using 2D and 3D CAD programs.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) using ERP systems for the corresponding assembly.
• Provide clarifications during fabrication/assembly to vendors and in-house teams.
• Prepare technical reports, design specification papers, and operational instructions.

• Creationofdetaileddrawingsfrom3DassemblyandAutoCADdrawings.
• UsinganERPsystem,preparetheBillofMaterials(BOM)forthecorrespondingassembly.
• Accountableforprovidingtheclarificationsimmediatelyduringthefabricationorassemblystageofacomponentifanyclarificationsarerequiredinthedrawingforsubsuppliersorin-housevendors.
• Responsibleforthepreparationoftechnicalreports,designspecificationpapers,andoperationalinstructions.
