Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an experienced Architect/Designer to lead architectural and interior design for semiconductor plant facilities in Sanand, Gujarat.

You will develop layouts, review construction drawings, and coordinate with Civil, MEP, Process Engineering and Facilities teams to integrate design into plant infrastructure. The role requires 10–15 years in high‑tech manufacturing or industrial projects, a Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture/Interior Design/Civil Engineering, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Civil Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in architectural design and interior planning, preferably in high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial projects.
• Proven track record on large-scale semiconductor facilities (FABs), cleanrooms, or related industrial plants.
• Knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) for tracking design progress.
• Experience with sustainability frameworks (LEED, BREEAM, IGBC) is a plus.
• Must have understanding of regulatory/statutory codal requirements such as GIDC, AAI, Environmental clearance & permits for Sanand, Gujarat.
• Must be proficient or keen to applying AI in system reviews and day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities

• Architectural & Interior Design: Develop, design, and review layouts, construction drawings, and ID elements for semiconductor plant facilities.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with Civil, MEP, Process Engineering, and Facilities teams to integrate design into plant infrastructure.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet local/international codes, cleanroom standards, fire safety, and industry requirements.
• Material & Space Planning: Select materials and layouts to optimize safety, efficiency and sustainability.
• BIM & 3D Modeling: Use BIM for clash detection, coordination and visualization of design work.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to align designs with objectives.
• Construction Oversight: Provide on-site guidance during construction and resolve design issues.
• Sustainability & Innovation: Integrate energy-efficient design practices into plant construction.
• Drive towards completion: Coordinate discipline leads & vendors to timely, high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural & Interior Design: Develop, design, and review architectural layouts, construction drawings, and ID elements for semiconductor plant buildings, cleanrooms, and support facilities.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Civil, MEP, Process Engineering, and Facilities teams to integrate architectural design into overall plant infrastructure.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local and international building codes, cleanroom classification standards (ISO, SEMI, GMP), fire safety, and semiconductor industry-specific requirements.
• Material & Space Planning: Select appropriate construction materials, finishes, and layouts to optimize safety, efficiency, and sustainability in semiconductor facility design.
• BIM & 3D Modeling: Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) for clash detection, coordination, and visualization of architectural and ID designs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure designs align with business and operational objectives.
• Construction Oversight: Provide on-site technical guidance during construction, resolving design-related issues, and ensuring execution as per specifications.
• Sustainability & Innovation: Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices into semiconductor plant construction.
• Drive towards completion: Must be capable of coordinating various discipline leads & driving the team & third part vendors, consultants towards timely completion of deliverables with utmost quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 10 - 15 years of experience in architectural design and interior planning , preferably in high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial projects.
• Proven track record of working on large-scale semiconductor fabrication (FABs), cleanrooms, R&D facilities, or high-tech industrial plants .
• Knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) for tracking design progress.
• Experience with sustainability frameworks (LEED, BREEAM, or IGBC) is a plus.
• Must have experience in understanding & implementation of applicable regulatory/statutory codal requirements such as GIDC, AAI, Environmental clearance & other applicable permits for the plant at Sanand, Gujarat.
• Must be proficient or be keen to using AI & Applying AI in the system reviews and day today tasks as applicable.
