Job summary

Ingersoll Rand's subsidiary Toshniwal Vacuum seeks a Design Engineer – Mechanical to design industrial equipment, assemblies, and systems per customer requirements and engineering standards.

You will create 3D models and drawings, manage BOMs, and ensure GD&T compliance while collaborating with Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and vendors to drive manufacturability and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design or industrial equipment design.
• Strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• 3D modelling and assembly creation.
• 2D manufacturing and detailed drawings.
• General Arrangement Drawings (GAD).
• BOM preparation and maintenance.
• Sheet-Metal design and fabrication drawings.
• Dimensional tolerances and GD&T.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes, machining, materials and feasibility.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in pumps, vacuum systems, piping, rotating equipment or similar industrial equipment is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and translate requirements into engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with GD&T standards and engineering practices.
• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and vendors.
• Manage drawing revisions and engineering changes.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and testing activities.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, reliability, and quality.
• Support new product development projects.

Job Overview

The Design Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for designing and developing industrial equipment, assemblies, and mechanical systems based on customer requirements and engineering standards.
