Job summary

Speed Pack Machines in Mumbai invites a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design and develop packaging machines, SPMs, and automation systems, using SolidWorks to create 3D models and detailed drawings while ensuring cost and schedule targets.

You will perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to improve performance, document specifications and BOMs, and support manufacturing through clear technical instructions. 2–5 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience as mechanical design engineer or machine designer in packaging/SPM/automation.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems within budget and timelines.
• Report to the senior regarding project status.
• Use CAD/3D CAD to plan mechanical design projects.
• Create 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses.
• Prepare BOMs, design specs, and assembly instructions.
• Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions.

Speed pack give customize secondary packaging machine as per client requirements in example: Automatic Filling machine, sleeving Machine & sleeving machinery etc.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in packaging machine, new product development, Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) and proficiency in Solid Work. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our diverse range of projects. Your focus will be on creating efficient, reliable, and cost-effective machinery designs, ensuring the successful execution of our company's engineering objectives. Adhere to national and local compliance regulations and standards, along with keeping in mind the ethos of the company

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, keeping in mind the budget, timelines and other essential resources
• Report to the senior regarding the status of each project
• Use CAD and 3D CAD programs to plan the mechanical design projects
• Demonstrate a strong command of the Solid work software to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for the machinery designs.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize the mechanical design's performance, reliability, and safety
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions, to facilitate the manufacturing process.
• Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them
• Perform tests and experiments to determine how to better improve a component
• Ensure that all design outputs meet the company's quality standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
• Research and keep up with the dynamic technology and trends in the mechanical design spectrum

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Prior experience working as a mechanical design engineer or machine designer preferably with specialization in Packaging machine, Special Purpose Machinery (SPM), custom equipment, or automation systems.
• Experience working with tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials selection, manufacturing processes, and engineering analysis techniques.
• Ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems, think critically, and implement effective solutions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation and implementation
• Efficiently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Sound knowledge of GD&T
• Strong verbal, written and communications skills
