Dermatologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating skin conditions affecting the eyelids, periocular area, and surrounding facial regions in an eye care hospital setting. The involves managing medical and cosmetic dermatology cases, providing pre and post-operative skin evaluation for ocular surgeries, and ensuring safe and effective treatment of skin-related disorders in coordination with ophthalmology teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat skin diseases affecting the eyelids, periocular region, and facial skin.
• Manage conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, pigmentation, fungal infections, and allergies.
• Evaluate and treat skin tumors, cysts, warts, and lesions around the eyelid area.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative skin assessment for procedures like LASIK, cataract, and blepharoplasty.
• Recommend appropriate medications, topical treatments, and skincare regimens for patients.
• Perform clinical evaluation and differential diagnosis of dermatological conditions affecting ocular regions.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, cosmetic surgeons, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients on skin hygiene, preventive dermatology, and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to hospital clinical protocols, safety standards, and ethical medical practices.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on response and recovery.
• Assist in cosmetic dermatology procedures related to periocular and facial aesthetics when required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning sessions.
• Stay updated with advancements in dermatology, aesthetic medicine, and clinical research.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction through effective consultation and counseling.
• Perform additional dermatology and clinical responsibilities assigned by management or senior consultants.
