Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in quality in electrical switchgear/switchboard industry.
• 2-3 years of audits experience in process, product, and quality systems.
• Quality certifications such as ISO, TQM, Six Sigma, etc.
• ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 internal auditor certification is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems and SPC/SOC quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement quality processes and remove bottlenecks with process owners.
• Understand testing methods and equipment operation.
• Conduct product and process audits and plan daily inspections for final products and components.
• Ensure effective quality-checking to prevent errors.
• Perform root-cause analysis for quality issues and present findings to senior management.
• Coordinate stage-wise verifications for compliance and rejection analysis.
• Provide quick and effective solutions to quality issues.
• Manage field returns and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure timely analysis and resolution of customer complaints.
• Carry out calibration activities and ensure instruments are calibrated on time.
• Track quality metrics and targets for first-hand rejections, CQN, customer returns, calibration, etc.
• Conduct SGIA audits monthly and drive productivity.
• Support production and other teams to maintain product quality.
• Train and coach team members on QA developments.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during inspections and factory assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of electrical switchgear/switchboards and IS/IEC standards.

The Deputy Manager - Quality (ADLEC) will play a pivotal role in controlling and supervising quality assurance processes, working closely with process owners to enhance efficiency and product quality. This role is integral to the companys commitment to delivering high-quality electrical and digital systems, and the successful candidate will have a direct impact on the companys reputation and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design and build effective quality processes within the organization and work with all process owners to remove bottlenecks.
• Understand test methods and the operation of testing equipment.
• Conduct product and process audits and plan daily inspection activities to thoroughly inspect final products and components.
• Ensure effective quality-checking activities to prevent errors in subsequent processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for product quality issues and present findings to senior management.
• Conduct stage-wise verification to check compliance with stated requirements and analyze stage-wise rejection to control CONQ and first-hand rejections.
• Provide quick and effective solutions to quality issues.
• Manage field returns and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure timely analysis and resolution of customer complaints.
• Carry out calibration activities and ensure all instruments are calibrated on time.
• Track quality measures and achieve targets for first-hand rejections, cost of non-quality, customer returns index, instrument calibration, and other relevant measures.
• Conduct monthly SGIA audits and work toward achieving productivity targets.
• Support Production and other teams on a daily basis to ensure product quality.
• Train, develop, and coach team members, keeping them updated on the latest developments in the QA field.
• Handle customers during product inspections, compliance follow-ups, and factory assessments/evaluations.
• Prepare Manufacturing Control Plans.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and coordinate/collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain good knowledge of electrical switchgear/switchboards and applicable IS/IEC standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, ROLE-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma/BE/B.Tech, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in the Quality department within the electrical switchgear/switchboard industry.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in process, product, and quality system audits.
• Quality certifications such as ISO, TQM, Six Sigma, etc.
• ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 Internal Auditor certification would be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), ERP systems, and technical tools such as SPC, SOC, and other quality tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
