Job summary

Adani Power Ltd. seeks a Mechanical BOP and Station Piping Execution Lead to oversee installation, erection, commissioning, and testing of Mechanical BOP and station piping systems in thermal power projects in India.

You will coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs and design teams, review drawings, ensure safety and quality, manage resources and materials, track progress, and supervise handover to Operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in execution of Mechanical BOP and Station Piping in thermal power plants.
• Hands-on experience in erection, testing, commissioning and project management of utility piping and equipment.
• Exposure to supercritical/ultra-supercritical projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor installation, erection, commissioning of Mechanical BOP systems and related piping.
• Coordinate CW/ACW, Fire Fighting, DM Water, Service Water, Air Compressors and other auxiliary systems.
• Review drawings, coordinate with EPC/OEMs, and resolve site engineering issues.
• Supervise contractors, track progress, ensure safety and quality, and certify bills.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover to Operations.

Job description

Mechanical BOP Project Execution

• Execute and monitor installation and commissioning activities of Mechanical BOP systems in thermal power projects.
• Coordinate project execution activities related to CW system, ACW system, Fire Fighting System, DM Water System, Service Water System, Air Compressors, Fuel Oil System, and other auxiliary systems.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules and construction milestones.
• Track erection progress and identify bottlenecks affecting project completion.

Station Piping Execution

• Supervise fabrication, erection, hydro testing, flushing, and commissioning of station piping systems.
• Monitor piping installation activities as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper execution of steam, condensate, cooling water, service water, fire water, compressed air, and auxiliary piping networks.
• Review piping layouts, isometrics, support drawings, and material specifications.

Engineering & Technical Coordination

• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate with design consultants, EPC contractors, and OEMs for technical clarifications.
• Resolve site engineering issues and ensure timely implementation of design changes.
• Participate in constructability reviews and engineering discussions.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Supervise contractors and monitor productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate manpower, machinery, and resources required for project execution.
• Verify work completion and support certification of contractor bills.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and equipment at site.

Commissioning & Project Handover

• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of Mechanical BOP systems.
• Support system readiness checks, hydro tests, flushing activities, trial runs, and performance testing.
• Ensure timely closure of punch points and commissioning observations.
• Facilitate smooth system handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.

Project Planning & Monitoring

• Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and execution progress.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, C&I, Procurement, and Planning teams to achieve project objectives.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, project specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Enforce compliance with HSE guidelines, permit-to-work systems, and statutory regulations.
• Participate in safety audits, quality inspections, and project reviews.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture across project execution activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in execution of Mechanical BOP and Station Piping projects for Thermal Power Plants.
• Hands-on experience in erection, testing, commissioning, and project management of utility piping systems and auxiliary plant equipment.
• Exposure to supercritical and ultra-supercritical power projects will be preferred.
• Experience in coordinating with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and construction agencies.
• Experience in greenfield thermal power project execution will be an added advantage.
