Job summary

Preferable - Crafting Careers seeks a Deputy Manager - ECU Design & Development to lead end-to-end ECU project development for passenger and commercial vehicles, coordinating with Japan headquarters, lead customers, plants and suppliers on design and development activities.

The role requires 9–12 years in automotive ECU/electronics hardware design, a B.Tech in ECE or E&I, strong project management, design validation, and hands-on vehicle-level validation experience.

Qualifications

• 9–12 years of experience in automotive ECU/electronics hardware design and development.
• B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
• Project management and best-practice knowledge of electronic circuits (hardware), components, and compatibility with interface parts/signal specifications.
• Circuit analysis and troubleshooting capability.
• Follow design procedures: RFQ study/analysis/design proposal, DFMEA, design validation, and formal design release.
• Test equipment handling experience (Oscilloscope, signal generator, CANoe).
• Hands-on experience with vehicle-level validation for ECUs and analysis.
• Basic knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine working and controls.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage difficult situations.
• Polite, proactive, never-give-up attitude with ownership to lead.
• Flexible for travel and managing own schedule; ability to work across Indian, Japanese, and other cultures and age groups.
• Willingness for long-term / stable employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead & manage end-to-end project development of various ECUs for passenger cars and CVs, coordinating with Japan headquarters, lead customer, manufacturing plant & suppliers.
• Conduct requirement study/analysis and design proposals for internal and customer needs; confirm standard hardware design/circuits against new requirements for ECUs.
• Provide technical support & schedule coordination to internal divisions and customers (OEMs).
• Evaluate product on vehicle, rig bench, and simulator.
• Support design quality issues to manufacturing plant, trial part making, and testing.
• Guide and develop subordinates.
