Job summary

DMart is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and support NoSQL environments such as MongoDB Atlas and Cassandra across development, QA, and production. The role emphasizes building efficient, cost-effective solutions and hands-on lab-to-live project delivery.

You will automate deployment, monitor performance, and participate in capacity planning while serving as SME for NoSQL, Linux, Python, and shell scripting. Collaboration with infra and operations is essential to meet SLAs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience building and managing NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• 3+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficient in Shell scripting and Python.
• Experience with Big Data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support architecture, design, development and deployment of NoSQL databases.
• Design efficient, cost-effective NoSQL solutions and take projects from lab to live.
• Provide DBA support for development, QA, performance, and pre-production environments.
• Configure monitoring, backup, security compliance for NOSQL databases.
• Migrate databases to new hardware/platforms and optimize performance.
• Perform proactive capacity planning and trend analysis for databases.
• Collaborate with infra, product, and operations to meet SLAs and targets.
• Evaluate and implement DBA tools to improve monitoring and change management.
• Build NoSQL platform expertise and health monitoring solutions.
• Automate deployment and configuration using open-source frameworks.
• Be SME for NoSQL (MongoDB, Atlas) and Cassandra.

Job Description

• Support Database Engineering in the architecture, design, development and deployment of NoSQL database environments. This includes the advanced to expert engineering and implementation of the following:
• Provide technical expertise to design the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for NoSQL database systems. This includes building a solution in Lab and taking it Live through the project life cycle.
• Provide DB Engineering support for databases in various environments including development, QA, performance, and pre-production; provide DB Engineering support for vendor and internally developed applications. The physical implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
• Provide DBA support in configuring enterprise monitoring, backup, alerting, and security compliance solutions for NOSQL databases.
• Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in the consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms.
• Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of escalated Level 3 issues
• Regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis, predictive future database resource requirements, and the structured organized reporting of the same
• Work closely with other Infrastructure engineering, product development, business operations, and technical operations to ensure delivery of database services within the SLAs and performance target set
• Participate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of DBA tools to improve the effectiveness of tasks such as performance monitoring and tuning, recovery, and database change management processing
• Evaluate, recommend and build NoSQL platform(s) understanding the business needs
• Build monitoring solution(s) for the Big Data infrastructure to understand the health of the infrastructure
• Automate deployment and configuration management using open-source frameworks.
• Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for NoSQL like MongoDB (+Atlas) and Cassandra

Skills required

• Experience building and managing NoSQL Database like Cassandra and MongoDB
• Experience with Shell Scripting and Python.
• Should have worked on Big Data.
