Job summary

Wipro in Bengaluru is seeking a MongoDB/NoSQL DBA to configure and monitor MongoDB, NoSQL, and Columnar DB instances. The role involves automating tasks, resolving production issues, and participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

You will improve backups, test recoverability, optimize queries, maintain performance, and perform capacity planning. Collaboration with tech and business teams, plus documenting health checks and DR planning, is required.

Responsibilities

• Configure and monitor MongoDB, NoSQL, and Columnar DB instances.
• Automate routine tasks with your own scripts and open-source tools.
• Solve production problems and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Improve database backups and test recoverability regularly.
• Research the business needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB and NoSQL.
• Maintain database performance and capacity planning.
• Document and collaborate with technology and business organizations.
• Implement appropriate indexes for performance improvement.
• Fine tune the configurations mongo dB and servers for performance improvement.
• Implement optimal backup and recovery.
• Understand and optimize query performance.
• Database Health checks to be created and published to monitoring systems
• Identify slow queries
• Replication lags
• Node Failures
• Index Usage patterns
• CPU Usage
• Memory Usage
• Locks
• No of connections
• And any other params which can be added as part of database health checks.
• Evaluate, plan and perform the DB Upgrades.
• Maintenance During release / outage etc.
• Implementing best practices for backups, replication, and health checks.
• Database hardening Implement best practices.
• Design and implement DR Plans HA solutions and recommendations.
• Work closely with Appl team to understand what changes are coming in a build / patch / hotfix, do an impact analysis, finetune the queries if any.

Process Key per-requisite:

• Candidate should be able to work independently in his/her shift without any help.
• 24*7 support, willing to work on rotational shifts.

Additional & Desired Skills:

-Hands-on Experience in Cloud computing skills like Google/AWS/Microsoft AZURE.

-Disaster /Backup Recovery and Business Continuity experience.

-Helping team members in case of Issues/Technical Problems

-Research the business needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB

-Interact with the MongoDB community at meetups, conferences, and in online forum.
