Job summary

AECOM in India is seeking a Deputy Engineer - Transmission Lines to join our Transmission & Distribution team. This role provides specialized input to studies and designs, develops procedures, and contributes to interdisciplinary project reviews across global energy initiatives.

The successful candidate will hold a Master of Engineering and have 2+ years of work experience in transmission line design, with exposure to IEC, IEEE, and relevant global standards, plus experience with software

• Master of Engineering degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of work experience in transmission line design.
• Exposure to IEC, IEEE, ANSI and related international standards.
• Experience with transmission line design software such as PLS CADD/PLS TOWER.

We are seeking an Deputy Engineer - Transmission Lines to join our Transmission & Distribution team in India. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful Energy projects across the globe and continue developing their technical expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.

Role:

• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Responsibility:

Refers to the field of engineering dealing with the analysis and design of structures that support or resist loads. Commonly involved in the design of buildings and large nonbuilding structures, but can also be involved in the design of machinery, medical equipment, vehicles or any item where structural integrity affects the function or safety of an item. Discipline concerning force resisting and load bearing members and their connections for structures such as foundations, bridges, walls, columns, slabs, beams, trusses or similar members used singly or as part of a larger structure

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:

• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Overall 2+ years of work experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in design teams working for UK&I National Grid for Transmission Line Structural design is highly desirable
• Previous experience in design teams working for Grid Utilities (for e.g., National Grid, Transgrid, Powergrid etc.,) for Transmission Line Structural design would also be considered.
• Exposure to International standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian Standards and Middle East region codes and standards) is preferred
• Previous design experience working with PLS CADD, PLS TOWER, PLS POLE, Staad Pro, Microstran or other similar software tools is highly desirable
• Chartership or Fellowship with IStructE / ICE or equivalent is desirable
• Very good communication skills (Oral and Written) in English language is mandatory
