Job summary

Health Within Reach Foundation in Pune Division invites a Dentist – Mobile Polyclinic Van for a full-time, on-site role. You will deliver comprehensive dental care from the mobile unit, including exams, diagnosis, preventive and emergency treatments, while managing patient flow and records.

Qualifications

• Must hold recognized degree in Dentistry with valid registration.
• Clinical competence across exams, diagnoses, fillings, extractions, scaling, preventive care, and emergency care.
• Experience or strong interest in community/public health and serving underserved populations.
• Ability to work in mobile/field-based settings and travel within Pune Division.
• Excellent patient communication and counseling with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Commitment to infection control and sterilization per protocols.
• Comfort working in a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with other healthcare staff.
• Proficiency with digital record-keeping; telehealth and EHR familiarity is a plus.
• Prior experience in mobile clinics, rural health programs, or non-profit healthcare is preferred but not mandatory.

Role Description

The Dentist – Mobile Polyclinic Van is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the Pune Division. The dentist will provide comprehensive dental care from the mobile polyclinic van, including examinations, diagnosis, preventive care, restorative procedures, and emergency dental treatment. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing patient flow, maintaining accurate medical and dental records, educating patients on oral hygiene and preventive practices, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals in the mobile unit. The role also involves ensuring proper sterilization and maintenance of dental equipment, adhering to relevant clinical protocols and safety standards, and participating in outreach activities and health camps in various communities. The dentist is expected to work closely with the foundation’s team to improve access to dental care for marginalized and resource‑limited populations.

Qualifications

• Recognized degree in Dentistry (BDS; MDS is an advantage) and valid registration with the appropriate dental council or regulatory body.


• Clinical expertise in routine dental procedures, including examination, diagnosis, fillings, extractions, scaling, preventive treatments, and basic emergency dental care.


• Experience or strong interest in community dentistry, public health, or working with underserved and diverse populations.


• Ability to work in mobile or field‑based settings, including flexibility to travel within the Pune Division and adapt to varied environmental and resource conditions.


• Strong patient communication and counseling skills, with a focus on education, empathy, and culturally sensitive care.


• Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control, equipment sterilization, and adherence to clinical and safety protocols.


• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and outreach staff.


• Basic proficiency in using digital tools for record‑keeping, reporting, and telehealth support; familiarity with electronic health records is a plus.
