Job summary

Eightfold's Solutions Consulting team seeks a Demo Engineer to build and maintain demo environments for SaaS storytelling. You will generate industry- and region-specific data, configure demo instances (JSON and scripts), and automate provisioning to deliver rapid, credible demos for prospects.

You will collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Customer Success, stay current with the roadmap, and help showcase Eightfold's capabilities to clients worldwide.

Qualifications

4-7 years building and supporting demo/sandbox environments in SaaS or presales.
Hands-on with XML, CSV, and REST APIs for data ingestion.
Strong scripting for data transformation (Python/JavaScript).
Knowledge of JSON for configuration and setup.
Experience using AI tools to generate synthetic data at scale.
Familiarity with API integration and MCP is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Create and ingest synthetic demo data relevant to industry/region.
Ingest data into demos via XML, CSV, and API methods.
Build data needs across Talent Acquisition and Talent Management modules.
Configure demo instances with JSON-based configuration and light scripting.

About The Solutions Consulting Team

Eightfold's Solutions Consulting team is in the midst of an exciting transformation - redefining what it means to be a trusted advisor in today's fast-paced, talent-driven world. Our SCs don't just demo features - they tell stories, co-create with prospects and customers, and bring technical credibility and business insight to every conversation. Through storytelling and live demonstration, they help prospects and customers see exactly how they can achieve the vision they have for their talent strategy. The Demo Engineer is what makes that storytelling possible - building and maintaining the demo environments SCs rely on to bring every story to life.

About The Role

Eightfold's Solutions Consulting (SC) team runs live product demonstrations for prospects across industries and geographies. The Demo Engineer is the technical backbone behind those demonstrations: building, populating, and configuring demo environments so that every demo feels tailored, current, and credible to the prospect in front of it. This role sits between engineering and presales - the person will generate and ingest realistic, industry- and geography-specific data, configure demo instances (including JSON-level configuration and light scripting), and build automation (scripts, APIs, and agentic/MCP-based tooling) that lets Solutions Consultants spin up a ready-to-demo instance in minutes rather than hours.

Key Responsibilities

Demo Data Creation & Ingestion

Generate synthetic demo data relevant to the prospect's industry and region using AI tools - for example, generating candidate profiles with names, locations, and job titles appropriate to a UK-based prospect versus a US- or APAC-based one.
Ingest data into demo instances using all of Eightfold's supported ingestion methods - XML, CSV, and API - choosing the right method for the scenario.
Build out data needs across Eightfold's core modules: Talent Acquisition (including CRM features such as campaigns and events) and Talent Management (including organizational hierarchies for line managers, employees, and HR VPs).

Instance Configuration

Configure demo instances to match specific customer or industry scenarios, including JSON-based configuration.
Write scripts to transform, clean, or modify data received from or modeled after customer environments.

Automation & Efficiency for the SC Team

Design and build agents/tooling (via APIs, MCPs, and other integration methods) that can take a prospect name as input and automatically provision a fully configured, industry-appropriate demo instance - removing manual prep work from Solutions Consultants.
Identify and automate repetitive steps across data generation, ingestion, and configuration to continuously reduce demo turnaround time.

Roadmap Awareness & Instance Reliability

Stay current with Eightfold's product roadmap and upcoming release items, proactively updating demo instances so they reflect the latest features and capabilities.
Collaborate closely with the Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to keep demo instances reliable and feature-ready - so the SC team can consistently showcase the latest and greatest of the platform.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner regularly with Solutions Consultants to gather requirements for upcoming demos and prospect scenarios.
Articulate the proposed technical approach or implementation method clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

4-7 years of experience in building and supporting demo/sandbox environments, ideally within a SaaS or presales context.
Hands-on experience with structured data formats and ingestion methods, specifically XML, CSV, and REST APIs.
Strong scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) for data transformation, automation, and light application/database scripting.
Working knowledge of JSON for application or instance configuration.
Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., LLM-based tools) to generate realistic, contextually accurate synthetic data at scale.
Solid understanding of API integration and comfort integrating with third-party or internal APIs; exposure to agentic frameworks or MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills - able to gather requirements from Solutions Consultants, ask clarifying questions, and clearly explain the technical approach being taken.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to independently manage multiple demo requests and shifting priorities.
Cross-functional collaborator - comfortable tracking product roadmap and release notes, and working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to keep demo environments current and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications (Good To Have)

Prior experience in HR technology (HCM, ATS, CRM for recruiting, or similar platforms) - not mandatory, but a strong plus.
Experience supporting presales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical teams.
Experience building internal automation tools or agents using APIs, MCPs, or workflow automation platforms.

Solutions Consultants spend less time manually preparing demo data and more time focused on the prospect conversation, because demo instances - populated with industry- and geography-relevant data across Talent Acquisition and Talent Management modules - can be requested and provisioned quickly and reliably, increasingly through automated, agent-driven workflows.
