Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Delivery Lead for AI & Data programs in Chennai, India. You will own end-to-end delivery, drive sprint cadences, and lead large technical teams across data engineering, AI/ML, and cloud architecture.

You will oversee ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and analytics APIs, while guiding agentic AI orchestration and guardrails. Strong client communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, AI/ML, or analytics.
• 4+ years in delivery leadership or program management.
• Proven track record delivering complex AI & Data programs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery accountability for concurrent AI & Data programs.
• Establish sprint cadences, steering committees, risk registers, change control, and dashboards.
• Lead technical teams of data engineers, AI/ML engineers, cloud architects, and BAs (10–30 FTEs).
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, blockers, and manage scope and resources.
• Provide technical oversight of ingestion, transformation, semantic models, and analytics APIs.
• Guide design/deployment of agentic AI, including orchestration and guardrails.
• Conduct architecture reviews, spike planning, and quality gates.
• Champion CI/CD, data observability, lineage, and testing frameworks.
• Drive data migration and modernization through ETL/ELT and go-live.
• Serve as primary day-to-day client interface and steering reviews.
• Translate delivery metrics into business-impact narratives.
• Identify expansion opportunities through quality delivery.

Job description

• Own end-to-end delivery accountability for concurrent AI & Data programs within scope, budget, and timeline
• Establish and drive sprint cadences, steering committees, risk registers, change control, and delivery dashboards
• Lead technical teams of data engineers, AI/ML engineers, cloud architects, and BAs, typically 10–30 FTEs
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers
• Manage scope, effort estimation, and resource allocation
• Provide technical oversight of ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, semantic models, and analytics APIs
• Guide design and deployment of agentic AI solutions, including orchestration, tool integrations, prompt governance, and guardrails
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical spike planning, and code/quality gates
• Champion CI/CD, data observability, lineage, and testing frameworks
• Drive data migration and modernization through schema mapping, ETL/ELT, cutover planning, reconciliation, and go-live
• Serve as primary day-to-day client interface and conduct steering reviews
• Translate delivery metrics into business-impact narratives
• Identify expansion opportunities through quality delivery

Requirements

• 10+ years in data engineering, AI/ML, or analytics, including at least 4 years in delivery leadership or program management
• Proven track record delivering complex, multi-workstream AI & Data programs in a services/consulting environment
• Hands-on expertise with cloud data warehouses including Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift
• Experience with Lakehouse architectures, Databricks, Delta Lake, Airflow, and dbt
• Working knowledge of agentic AI architectures, LLM orchestration frameworks, RAG pipelines, multi-agent systems, and enterprise deployment patterns
• Strong client-facing communication and ability to present delivery progress, risks, and trade-offs to senior stakeholders
• Experience managing distributed delivery teams using India plus offshore/onshore models
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Insurance experience, data migration/modernization, insurance data frameworks, ACORD standards, and listed certifications are preferred or nice to have
